{"id":38,"date":"2015-04-11T18:22:41","date_gmt":"2015-04-11T18:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ninetheme.com\/themes\/church\/?p=38"},"modified":"2018-08-10T13:17:59","modified_gmt":"2018-08-10T13:17:59","slug":"relevance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bb4p.org\/site\/relevance\/","title":{"rendered":"Relevance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>THE RELEVANCE OF BB4P PEACE ZONES AND PEACE CLUBS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>As of now, there are not enough <strong>Peace Zones <\/strong>or <strong>Peace Clubs <\/strong>established in the <strong>5 Targeted States<\/strong>, <strong>Cities, LGA or Communities <\/strong>that have been affected by <strong>\u2018violent conflict\u2019 <\/strong>to sustain a Community based <strong>Peace Initiative<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Peace Zones <\/strong>are Community based <strong>\u2018safe places\u2019 <\/strong>where the Communities gather daily to enjoy <strong>Basketball <\/strong>and <strong>Peace making <\/strong>activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Peace Zones <\/strong>are used as <strong>\u2018sites\u2019 <\/strong>to identify <strong>Youth <\/strong>for more \u2018<strong>training\u2019 <\/strong>by <strong>USAID\/IFESH\/CALM &amp; BB4P<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Peace Clubs <\/strong>are sensitizing <strong>\u2018students\u2019 <\/strong>about and for <strong>Peace <\/strong>and through their various <strong>\u2018out-reach projects\u2019 <\/strong>sensitizing their communities about the need for <strong>PEACEFUL Co-existence<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Peace Zones are <\/strong>registering with their Local Government Areas, or States as <strong>NGOs<\/strong> and <strong>\u2018co-operatives\u2019 <\/strong>to initiate economically viable activities for success.<\/li>\n<li>The<strong> BB4P \u201cFund Raising Cards\u201d <\/strong>gives each<strong> Peace Zone and Peace Club <\/strong>a means to acquire some funds for their activities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>BB4P Peace Clubs <\/strong>have been recognized by the <strong>Plateau State Commissioner of Education <\/strong>to the extent that <strong>Peace Clubs <\/strong>have been made compulsory in all the Plateau State secondary schools. We believe every <strong>State<\/strong> should follow-suit.<\/li>\n<li>The name <strong>BB4P <\/strong>has attracted a lot of attention both in the media and the Basketball Community. If exploited to its full potential of having <strong>Bi-annual State and National BB4P \u2018Competitions\u2019 <\/strong>many more <strong>Youth <\/strong>stand to profit from their <strong>\u2018sweat\u2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The most relevant factor about the <strong>Peace Zones <\/strong>as expressed by the <strong>\u201cFounders\u201d<\/strong> is the networking that should make every <strong>Peace Zone<\/strong> to compete against another <strong>Peace Zone<\/strong>, a minimum of once in every month.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>BB4P Nigeria Network <\/strong>is now made-up of <strong>5 States <\/strong>with requests from <strong>6 more States <\/strong>to join.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>BB4P Africa Network <\/strong>is yet to be formed but it is our desire to see it established in the near future because <strong>PEACE must reign<\/strong> and <strong>communities affected by violent conflict must<\/strong> find ways to <strong>heal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>10 PEACE ZONES AND 30 PEACE CLUBS (minimum) PER STATE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our experiences thus far (4 years) have convinced us that a minimum of\u00a0 <strong>3 BB4P Peace Zones <\/strong>each in <strong>3 different Cities or Towns <\/strong>in each of the <strong>BB4P <\/strong>States are necessary for growth, development, sustainability and for the <strong>\u2018message of PEACE <\/strong>to be spread continuously at the <strong>\u2018grassroots\u2019 <\/strong>level in the various violent prone Communities. Obviously, this will encourage more \u2018<strong>buy-ins\u2019<\/strong> in these States and other States to join <strong>BB4P <\/strong>and establish their own <strong>Peace Zones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Already the <strong>Plateau State Commissioner of Education <\/strong>has made it compulsory for <strong>Peace Clubs <\/strong>to be formed in Schools in his State and <strong>BB4P <\/strong>is only having a presents in <strong>2 Cities <\/strong>(<strong>Jos &amp; Shendam\/Yelwa<\/strong>). This is indeed another <strong>\u2018testimony\u2019 <\/strong>of the success of the <strong>BB4P Project <\/strong>and future possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>It is our belief that the <strong>Nigeria BB4P Network <\/strong>and the future <strong>African BB4P Network <\/strong>of <strong>Peace Zones <\/strong>when fully functional, with consistent <strong>Competitions <\/strong>will provide many opportunities for our <strong>African Youth <\/strong>to prosper while helping to bring and maintain <strong>PEACE <\/strong>in our <strong>\u2018so called\u2019 poverty, war-torn AFRICA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PEACE<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE RELEVANCE OF BB4P PEACE ZONES AND PEACE CLUBS As of now, there are not enough Peace Zones or Peace Clubs established in the 5 Targeted States, Cities, LGA or Communities that have been affected by \u2018violent conflict\u2019 to sustain a Community based Peace Initiative.
